As per India Skills Report 2015,
the hiring trend of India is constantly moving upwards. A high number of jobs
have been created by the IT sector in the past 5 years. There has been a
substantial increase in the number of jobs in 2015 if compared with 2014. However,
the report also highlights the gender gap issue within the industry.
According to the report, only 32%
women prefer IT career choices whereas the number of men preferring IT is
approximately 68%. Despite this gender gap issue, IT is expected to lead the
employment market of India.
IT hiring in Startups – New Area in Focus
With over 3100 startups, India is
the 4th biggest hub for startups in the entire world – as per
NASSCOM recent report data. In 2015, startups of our country grabbed over 450
venture /angle funding, providing themselves a financial backup. The FDIs and
venture funding has enabled startups in India to compete with the best talents
of the world.
With such rapid growth, startup
has become a leading choice for countless experts who are leaving their lucrative
MNCs and IT firms to take up the challenge provided in the startup growth. While
the startups prefer to hire fresh talents from top schools such as IITs and
NITs, they also hire from other software product companies.

Why professionals have developed a soft corner for startups?
1. Competitive salaries
Startups leave no void when it comes to
hiring skilled talents. When in startups, it is not uncommon to see a 100% salary
hike for desiring candidate and competitive job profile. Additional benefits
such as ESOPs are also offered to the highly demanded tech professionals.
2. Rise of Mobile companies
In the past few years there has been a
significant growth in the demand of mobile users and similar platform. Most of
the consumer startups in India are focusing upon Android and iOS apps. The

numerous smaller startups valleys popping up, making India one of the ‘Leading
Startup Destination in the Entire World’.
