Kolkata Hosts National Convention for CA Students

Recently, Kolkata witnessed a great support to its Chartered Accountant (CA) students with National Convention organized here. Eastern India Chartered Accountants Students’ Association (EICASA) jointly with Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) under the support of Board of Studies, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organized a two day National Convention for CA Students. The theme was ‘Fusion India: Beating Targets, Achieving Excellence’. The venue was Centenary Auditorium of College Street Campus of the University of Calcutta.

The inaugural session was attended by the following members amongst others:
  • Pramod Dayal Rungta, Chairman, EIRC
  • Anirban Datta, Vice Chairman, EIRC & Chairman, EICASA
  • Abhijit Bandyopadhyay, Council Member, ICAI
  • Sumantra Guha, Council Member & Member, Board Of Studies, ICAI & Convention Convener
  • Saquib Gulzar, Vice-Chairman, EICASA
 Moreover, renowned speakers from different parts of India added their presence to motivate students.

The Event

Two special sessions were also organized to discuss and debate on ‘Young India – Lead India’ and ‘Hard work is more important than smart work to achieve success’. There was a panel Discussion on ‘Practical Training: Gateway to success’. Professional motivational speakers spoke on various motivational and professional topics which included:
  1. Spiritual Viewpoint of Stress Handling to Succeed
  2. Taxation
  3. Economy & Current Affairs
  4. Financial Reporting and Assurance
  5. Companies Act 2013
The Motive

The convention was organized for CA students to discuss their matters of interest, overall personality development and other different aspects related to the field of CA. The key target to organize the event was to motivate students about developing their overall personality. According to the Chairman of EIRC, Chartered Accountancy profession cannot achieve recognition and heights being only academically good. Everyone should develop their overall personality for a shining future. According to him, brushing up presentation and communication skills are the leading factors for self-development.

Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is the only professional educational institution that has a strong non-political students wing. It works for the betterment of students who are involved into Chartered Accountancy. It facilitates the students to be a true professional for future.

As the event was organized in Kolkata, it would create a base for better and well-paid opportunities in Kolkata. Why? Kolkata was the destination that witnessed the event; most of the students were from Kolkata. It has given many students great motivation. It would help them perform well as professionals in future and create a standard for this profession in the market. Though it is a reputed profession, such events help giving another height to this profession.

Conclusion

Such kind of event helps students and professionals to understand different aspects of the chosen path and motivate them. The event helped Kolkata CA students to understand the requirement of this profession that would help them while looking for chartered accountant jobs in Kolkata and other cities further in life.
