What is the end goal of entire job hunt process that you go through as a fresher – to land in a desirable job! Most of the candidates going through the job search and application process share a common attitude “If I can just get my foot in the door, I can get the job”. Getting an interview call is regarded as a complete reward. But, is an interview the end goal or a job?

While an interview confirmation gives an extra edge to the candidates, but the secret lies in availing the given opportunity. There are countless job opportunities for freshers and so is the competition. Hence, it’s important for very candidate to make the most of given opportunity.

Below mentioned are few steps which could help a candidate to put their best foot forward:

1. Take Help from Your Network: You might have heard it countless times that a candidate must conduct his research about the company before an interview. But, have you ever thought to do the same before writing a cover letter for your favorite company. If not, start doing it now. Tap into your network and look for someone who is aware of the work, culture and existing ecosystem of the company. Thank your interviewer for the time and do the same after doing a follow up. You could also thank them by sending a quick email at the end of the day. Gratitude is a reflection of your personality and how you handle a situation.
