There was a time when getting back to a former employer was impossible, but with ‘Rehiring’ coming into the picture, you could easily get back to your favorite ex-employer.

Have you ever regretted leaving your old company? Do you want to go back? If yes, take your chances with the new 2015 hiring trend, popularly termed as ‘Boomerang Hiring’.

Why is Companies ‘Rehiring’?

1. Zero Cultural Shock: Ex-employee is familiar with the company culture and work structure. Taking them back on the table decreases the risks involved with employee attrition.

2. They bring something new to the table: A major benefit for employers is when an ex-employee bring something new to the table. Working in different network allows employees to learn new skills, expand their connections and have new experiences; a major quality that could add lots of value to a company.

3. More Commitment: Whenever you hire your ex-employee commitment comes as a bonus. A boomerang employee who has left the company in positive terms is believed to be more loyal and committed after his/her return. The chances that they might leave again at anytime soon is minimal.

4. Bring Top Performers Back on Table: Rehiring an ex-employee also help companies bring their top performers back on the table. The associated hiring cost is also less if compared with the freshly hired.

According to a new survey conducted by Kronos and WorkplaceTrends, “around 76% of the HR professionals said they are more open to rehire someone who left the company a few years back.” One of the biggest benefactors of this new hiring trend is Millennial (with 46% possibility of returning back).

However, your chances of getting back to an organization depend upon your terms with the same. Before taking back a former employee, companies perform a background check. They check why you left the company in the first place. COMEBACKS are highly affected by your relationship with the ex-employer.
