Basically,
three major companies provide landline services in Bangalore. Following is a
list of the same companies:

Airtel was formerly known as TouchTel. It is the most popular telephone service
provider in the city.

Reliance
Infocomm: The company is among the recent entrant in the landline segment in
Bangalore.

BSNL:
It is oldest and largest operator owned by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited. It has
2.5 million subscribers. BSNL has the highest subscriber base.
Mobile (GSM)

Airtel:
Besides providing 3G network to its subscribers, the company holds 4G license
in bangalore and had already launched 4G services in Bangalore on May 7, 2012.
On the other hand, it launched its 3G here on 25 Jan 2011. It has become the
second private operator providing 3G in India.

Vodafone
IN: Vodafone IN was formerly known as Hutch. It is among the top mobile
networks company in India. It serves the people of Karnataka with 3G services even though it doesn’t have 3G
license. It uses Airtel's 3G network to provide 3G to existing 3G users as per
Delhi High Court order in April 2013.

BSNL:
BSNL first launch 3G in Karnataka. It provides GSM mobile services in the
entire state.

Idea
Cellular: Idea is the third largest network operator. It has covered the larger
part of the state. Using Airtel’s 3G network, Idea is able to provide 3G
network here as it doesn’t have 3G license.

Aircel:
Surprisingly, Aircel has 3G license despite being new in the industry. It is a
Chennai based company. It provide 3G
services in most of the cities of Karnataka.

Tata
Docomo: It provides 3G services in Bangalore.
l
Reliance
GSM: In 2009, Reliance started its GSM services. It also, doesn't have its own
3G network. It provides 3G services Under ICR with Aircel 3G network.
Mobile (CDMA):

Reliance
CDMA: It is one of the biggest CDMA operators in India. It has a huge CDMA user
base in small towns.

TATA
Docomo: The company has a good coverage of its CDMA services in the city and
rest of state.
l
MTS:
MTS launched its CDMA services in Karnataka on October 29, 2009.
